A coordinated social engineering attack” said Twitter about the massive target against high profiles of famous people on the platform. The targeted profiles include ex-US President Barack Obama, Tesla’s Elon Musk, investor Warren Buffet, and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos on Twitter bitcoin scam.

Twitter accounts of Elon Musk, Jeff Bozes, Bill Gates, Mike Bloomberg, and many prominent Us figures were hacked in a Bitcoin Scam. 

“Happy Wednesday! I am giving back Bitcoin to all of my followers. I am doubling all payments sent to the Bitcoin address below. You send $ 1000, I send $ 2000 back!” The offer was valid “only for 30 minutes”.

The company further said significant steps are being taken to limit access to any such internal systems and tools. The company has laid an internal investigation to check the twitter accounts hacked in bitcoin scam matter.

Besides, several accounts related to cryptocurrency organizations were also hijacked. Accounts of ride-sharing app Uber and iPhone maker Apple are also hacked.

Such attacks are not uncommon on the platform. In the March 2017 account of Amnesty International, the French economics ministry and BBC’s North America were attacked and broken down. But the recent attack is one of its kind with the aim of garnering as much money as possible. 

The hackers hack twitter account of famous people then posted a Bitcoin scam message on the platform. People were invited to transfer to the BTC address with the promise of doubling the money.

The main focus of the twitter Bitcoin scam is crypto money transfer. This approach is ingenious as the transfer of bitcoin from one country to another is easy. Besides, the crypto transactions don’t involve any financial institution in between the transfer which can track the money later.
