According to reports, Ellen DeGeneres is ending her long-running talk show ‘The  Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Reportedly there was a sharp decline in the ratings for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,”  which is in its 18th season. 

Nielsen data show that The Ellen DeGeneres Show viewership dropped by 1.1 million viewers this season, from 2.6 million viewers to 1.5 million viewers. This was after the host was accused of running a toxic workplace. Several employees also accused producers of sexual harassment.

DeGeneres apologized to her staff in the summer.  She addressed the viewers in September and said, “I learned that things happen here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously. And I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected.”

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged – and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres told The Hollywood Reporter, which first broke the news.

The show which began in 2003 led Ellen to more than 30 Emmys and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She also got her brand name through the show which was a major reason for her fame. DeGeneres’s scripted TV show Ellen became a historic landmark in TV history in the 1990s. 

The show is distributed by Warner Bros. It is a talk show which consists of major A list celebrities.
