Can the ‘bhai’ fever compete with the pandemic?

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the whole country has gone into lockdown respectively. This has impacted several industries in specific. One of them being the cinema industry. While a lot of short term efforts were made by corporations and respective owners, the theatres are looking for a massive hit that would lead to the redemption of these spaces.

One of such points would have been the Salman Khan super starrer ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai.’ If you know even a hint about the ‘Salman Bhai’ fandom, you know that the craze is huge and has the potential to revive the market even during a pandemic comparatively. This movie is set for a theatrical as well as OTT release on the May of 13th.

“I couldn’t have kept my Eid commitment with fans without the support of ZEE. It was important to release the film at a time like this because people are suffering due to the pandemic. Incomes have reduced for many, so now, instead of spending a lot of money on tickets at the cinemas, people can watch it at a much cheaper rate at home. I want to provide some entertainment to people at a grim time like this,” Salman Khan said in an interview with a group of journalists via Zoom on Monday.

The Radhe Combo Offer is a special offer introduced by ZEE5 in which for just Rs 499. The subscribers would be able to have a pay-per-view ticket of Radhe movie along with a full year of ZEE5 Premium subscription.

Khan also added that the box office collection of Radhe will be zero, this will be the lowest ever for a Salman Khan film. It is releasing in very few cinemas in India, overseas also the number of theatres are less than usual. So the box office collection will be very poor.

However, this does not stop the bhai fans from giving an extra shot at booking the tickets. This is what a look of the Google trend searches look like. Clearly, there has been a surge.

Radhe will also be available for the audience on various DTH services. So, you need not worry about missing your movie!
