All adults in India are now eligible to get vaccinated. Despite being the world’s biggest producer of vaccines, the country is suffering an internal shortage to meet its domestic demand. While both the Central and state government are ramping their efforts to vaccinate all eligible citizens against the COVID-19 infection, but due to the shortage of COVID vaccines, people are finding it hard to book an appointment for both free and paid vaccinations on the dedicated CoWIN portal and the Aarogya Setu app.

Looking at the current situation of the country, thankfully some tech experts and hackers are coming forward to help people secure their appointment slot in order for them to get vaccinated.

Here are some tools and websites that are created with the purpose to help people reserve their vaccine slot at the earliest.

Health-tech start-up HealthifyMe has joined hands with CoWIN to launch a platform that helps people find vaccination slots as per their location in real-time. This new CoWIN slot notifier platform is known VaccinateMe and is available on both web and mobile phones.

The portal is easy to use and is helping people book slots for both Covishield and Covaxin for people above the age of 18. The portal can be accessed from the VaccinateMe website or from the HealthifyMe app.

Citizens can also find the availability of appointment slots to get the COVID-19 vaccine through WhatsApp via MyGov Corona Helpdesk chatbot. This was launched in March 2020 by the Central government to reduce panic among the citizens pertaining to COVID-19.

This chatbot is available to all WhatsApp users in the country. In order to utilise the service and find the availability of the vaccine centre, a person needs to save the number – 9013151515 in their contact list and send a message to the MyGov Corona Helpdesk.
