As India is trying hard to vaccinate all adults against the COVID-19 infections, many people have either scored an appointment for a vaccine or are eagerly waiting for their chance to sign up. But honestly, most adults above the age of 18 are quite scared about their post-vaccination encounter and are wondering if they are going to experience any COVID vaccine side-effects after they get vaccinated.
While it is not possible for anyone to know what side-effects they are going to experience after they get their jab but believe me that the side-effects are very mild and are absolutely normal with no long-term damage. The symptoms are often short-lived and usually last for around 2-3 days.
Therefore, there’s nothing to worry about the after-effects that the body will show after receiving the vaccine doses. Remember, the vaccines are made in order to protect you from getting COVID-19 disease and build your immune system against the virus. This is why every individual need to take their vaccine doses on time without being anxious about the after-effects as they are not going to last long.
Here are few side-effects that a person can experience after receiving their vaccine jab. Also remember, not everyone is going to experience the listed side-effects as everybody reacts to the vaccine differently. It is also possible that you might build no side-effects.
1. Pain at the injection site:
This is one of the most common side-effects that a person comes across after receiving their vaccine dose. This is absolutely normal and about 70 to 80 percent people feel arm pain on the day they receive their jab. There might also be somewhat redness or swelling at the place where the needle went into your skin, but this is a temporary side-effect that lasts only for few hours.
2. Fatigue:
Most people reported fatigue after receiving their first dose of the vaccine. This after-effect is experienced by the majority of the population and lasts for around 2-3 days.
3. Fever:
Fever is also one of the common side-effects that most people reported. In most cases, discomfort from pain or fever is a normal sign that your body is building protection against the virus.
4. COVID arm:
“COVID arm” is basically a delayed side effect that includes redness and itchiness at the injection site that can resemble a rash. It is an allergic-type of reaction to something present in the vaccine. This goes away in a few days or in a week and is actually not a very big deal.
5. Nausea:
Some people after receiving their vaccine feel a little vomity, but this symptom doesn’t last for long. This could be easily eased by resting, eating light or bland foods if you’re hungry, or can even consult your doctor for any remedy.
Apart from these highly common symptoms, some people can experience other side-effects as well.
6. Diarrhoea
7. Muscle pain
8. Facial swelling
9. Dizziness
10. Headache
