Coronavirus pandemic added masks as part of one’s daily life when they go out. Masks are considered to be highly protective and proved to be a game-changer in countries such as South Korea. However, they are not perfect, and many are still not ready to use them.
To solve the mistrust and uncomfortableness around the traditional masks, there are many new products that are available in the market now. One such product is VYZRTech’s personal air purifier shield which acts as a solution to growing pollution and provides protection against the novel coronavirus.
The BioVYZR is a personal air purifying shield designed to protect against air-borne hazards in our environments. The design of the shield provides a 360-degree seal to close personal space from all sides.
The in-built purifying system is designed to filter out pathogens, allergens, and pollutants present in the air we breathe. The system uses Air Purifying technology to create an environment inside the mask that keeps polluted external air away from the person who is wearing it.
The purifier has KN95 filters that removes up to 95 percent of the pollutants. It has a battery life of up to eight hours and a Soft wipeable exterior. The product is available at $360 and is being sold online via stack social.
Why shield?
As the pandemic spreads through the release of respiratory droplets when a person talks, sings or yells. To protect the person from those microdroplets even a simple cloth mask is useful.
Adding more layers between two persons keeps them safe from one another to avoid spreading any type of infectious disease. Adding a face shield can offer complete protection to us when we go outdoors. When a person goes to an officer using a shield it can protect him from everything out there ready to attack him.
Traditional masks don’t have a tight seal which makes it easy for pathogens to bypass masks. Some masks even pose the risk of spreading the disease through droplets more as they are not enough to protect.
PPE increase pollution
As the pandemic increased, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) has increased plastic pollution. China increased its single-use face mask production by 116 million per day. The pandemic could produce monthly global consumption and waste of 129 billion face mask and 65 billion gloves.
Medical waste has also increased due to the pandemic. During the initial days, hospitals in Wuhan produced more than 240 tons of single-use plastic-based medical waste such as disposable gowns, gloves, and face masks.
“This global health crisis puts extra pressure on regular waste management practices, leading to inappropriate management strategies, including mobile incineration, direct landfills, and local burnings. Improper disposal of just 1 percent of face masks translates to more than 10 million items, weighing 30,000 to 40,000 kg. Water-logged COVID-19 related plastic has been observed on beaches and in water, potentially aggravating the challenge of curtailing microplastics,” says a study.
Shield to protect
The air purifying shield can help in protecting the environment as it doesn’t depend on plastic and a person can use it for a longer time. The shield weighs around just 1.2 kg and can be easily used.
“The BioVYZR is a ground-breaking personal air purifying shield designed to provide an unmatched degree of protection against airborne hazards in our daily environment. The proprietary design of the shield provides a 360-degree seal to shield the person’s face from all sides,” says the product description.
