Amidst the ongoing clashes between the US and China regarding how did coronavirus originate, a Chinese Virologist recently claimed that she has proof that the virus was manmade.
While the world is debating about how did coronavirus originate, Dr Li Meng-Yan, a researcher at the Hong Kong School of Public Health, specializes in Virology and Immunology appeared on ITV on Friday stating that “The genome sequence is like a human fingerprint. Based on this you can identify these things. I will (use this) evidence to tell people why this has come from the lab in China, why they are the ones who made it. Anyone, even if you have no biological knowledge, will be able to read it.”
The Virologist had accused Beijing of covering up the outbreak in Wuhan, in the past. As she has been vocal about the coronavirus orginate in China, now been allegedly forced to flee to the United States of America over safety concerns .
Dr Li was given the task of looking into SARS-like cases being reported in mainland China in December 2019. She claims that she came to identify a cover-up operation during her investigation and accuses the Chinese government of being fully aware of the existence of coronavirus before it became public and spread globally.
Dr Li appeared on an online show, “Loose Women” on September 11, 2020, from an anonymous location and discussed her findings on the matter. She stated in the interview that, “The genome sequence is like a human fingerprint.” She also spoke about the challenges and security threats she has been facing following her findings.
She said on the show: “Dr Li claims she had to flee to the US for her own safety and is now determined to spread her findings to the world. She joined Loose Women from a secret location to tell us why she felt compelled to speak out, even if it meant putting her life on the line.”
She also claims that she was asked to keep quiet and careful when she reported that cases appeared to be rising exponentially in China.

“I will [use this] evidence to tell people why this has come from the lab in China, why they are the ones who made it,” Adding, “Anyone, even if you have no biological knowledge, will be able to read it and check and identify and verify it yourself.”
She swore to publicize the proof as soon as she gets a chance and claimed that the Chinese authorities deleted all her information from the servers and asked people to spread rumours about her.
All these claims by Dr Li Meng-Yan have been opposed by the Chinese National Health Commission and the University of Hong Kong Public Health.
Coronavirus originate theories and the pandemic
Presently, the coronavirus originated from China’s Wuhan has affected more than two billion people across the globe and resulted in more than eight million deaths.
The countries that are the worst hit by the virus are, The United States of America, India, Brazil, Russia and Peru. The US has around 38,74,075 active cases presently, India stands at 9,86,598 active cases, Brazil has 4,75,624 active cases in the country and Russia and Peru both have around 1,50,000 active cases presently.
China has been facing tremendous amount of backlash globally, being blamed for the origination of the pandemic. The pandemic has caused the biggest economic downfall the world has experienced so far.
Amidst the pandemic, international tension against China and the US has been the most evident, as US President Donald Trump continuously tweets his views about how China has destroyed the world and ended up committing “mass world killings”.
The US President has also called China incompetent on several occasions, pointing out that China was unable to contain the virus to the country as it spread globally.
Initially, when the United States and Europe were the most hit by the virus, Trump tweeted his response to China, alleging that the virus was a propaganda attack by China on the two countries.
More theories started to surface online after a very quick redemption of the Chinese from the virus, a lot of people have suggested that China already has the cure to the virus but is not willing to share it. It was alleged that the origination and the spread of the virus were deliberate and the main motive behind it was to topple to the top position in the world.
All the theories redirected towards China were strongly opposed by the country, which later came up with its own theory in the matter. According to the Chinese, the virus was planted in the country by the United States of America because the US was threatened by the growth of the country.
The blame game between the two countries has been going on since the start of the pandemic, due to which Australia issued an enquiry into the matter, determined to find out who originally created the virus and if it was deliberate.
Amidst the on-going fiasco, the arrival of Dr Li Meng-Yan with a firm statement that the coronavirus originate in China is propogated to send the world into a frenzy. The proof the virologist claims to have is still pending to be publicized and all everyone can do, is hope for the best.
