Twitter is reportedly working on a new paid service on its platform. The service is called Twitter Blue and might contain features like undo tweets and a bookmark collection. It will be a premium subscription-based service.
App researcher Jane Manchun Wong, who first spotted the feature, says Twitter Blue will cost $2.99 as of now. Wong suggests this could be the base plan, with more expensive plans available for those who want even more features.
A thread of tweets by Wong tells us about the possible features of the service. Look at them here.
According to Wong, Twitter is working on a multi-tier subscription model. Twitter has not confirmed the feature yet. However, Twitter did confirm that they are looking at exploring subscription models on its platform. The Twitter CEO had said in 2020 that users might need to pay for certain “aspects” of Twitter.
Twitter’s new feature, ‘Collection’ will let users “save and organise your favourite tweets into Collections so that they’re easier to find later.”
Lately, some users reported seeing “Tip Jar” on their profiles. Tip Jar feature allows users to donate to content creators. Previously, Twitter acquired Revue, a newsletter startup, intending to make money through subscriptions.
